Ring Size Guide: Pakistani Ring Size Chart and How to Measure at Home

Updated 24 October 2026

To find your ring size, wrap a thread or paper strip around the base of your finger, mark where it meets, and measure the length in millimetres. That is your circumference. Match it to the chart below to find your Indian/Pakistani size, inside diameter and US size. If between sizes, choose the larger.

How ring sizes work in Pakistan

In Pakistan, jewellers commonly use the Indian ring size system, where each size step adds roughly 1 mm to the inside circumference. Shoppers abroad may know their US size (used in the USA and Canada) or a letter size (used in the UK). Every system is simply a way of describing the inside circumference or diameter of the ring.

Measuring in millimetres is the most reliable approach, because you can then convert to any system. When you order a ring on WhatsApp, sending the measurement in mm avoids confusion.

Ring size chart: Pakistani/Indian, diameter and US sizes

Sizes below are approximate. Different charts round slightly differently, so treat a half-size difference as normal.

  • Indian/Pakistani 6: circumference 46 mm, inside diameter 14.6 mm, about US 3.75
  • Indian/Pakistani 8: circumference 48 mm, inside diameter 15.3 mm, about US 4.5
  • Indian/Pakistani 10: circumference 50 mm, inside diameter 15.9 mm, about US 5.25
  • Indian/Pakistani 12: circumference 52 mm, inside diameter 16.5 mm, about US 6
  • Indian/Pakistani 14: circumference 54 mm, inside diameter 17.2 mm, about US 7
  • Indian/Pakistani 16: circumference 56 mm, inside diameter 17.8 mm, about US 7.5 to 7.75
  • Indian/Pakistani 18: circumference 58 mm, inside diameter 18.5 mm, about US 8.5
  • Indian/Pakistani 20: circumference 60 mm, inside diameter 19.1 mm, about US 9.25
  • Indian/Pakistani 22: circumference 62 mm, inside diameter 19.7 mm, about US 10

How to measure ring size at home with thread or paper

Measure two or three times to be sure. Thread can stretch slightly, so pull it straight but do not tug it.

  • Cut a thin strip of paper or a piece of non-stretchy thread about 10 cm long
  • Wrap it around the base of the finger you will wear the ring on
  • It should be snug but still slide over your knuckle
  • Mark the point where the end overlaps with a pen
  • Lay it flat against a ruler and measure the length in millimetres
  • Match that circumference to the chart, or send the number to us on WhatsApp

Measuring a ring you already own

If you have a ring that fits the same finger well, place it on a ruler and measure the inside diameter, edge to edge across the middle, in millimetres. Do not include the metal itself. Compare that number with the inside diameter column above.

Tips for getting the right fit

  • Measure at the end of the day, when fingers are slightly larger
  • Avoid measuring when your hands are very cold or straight after exercise
  • If your knuckle is larger than the base of your finger, size to fit over the knuckle
  • Wide bands feel tighter, so consider going up half a size
  • If you fall between two sizes, choose the larger one

Adjustable rings and sizing help

Some fashion rings are made with an open or adjustable band, which allows a little flexibility in fit. Availability varies by design, so ask on WhatsApp whether the ring you like is adjustable or which sizes it comes in. Frequently asked questions

What is the most common ring size for women in Pakistan?

Sizes vary widely, but many women fall roughly between Indian sizes 10 and 14. Always measure rather than guessing, since a single size step changes the fit noticeably.

How do I convert a US ring size to a Pakistani size?

Use the chart above as a guide: US 6 is about Indian/Pakistani 12, and US 7 is about 14. For accuracy, send us your inside diameter or circumference in millimetres.

Can I measure my ring size with a phone app?

Some apps let you place a ring on the screen, but screen sizes and settings differ. The thread or paper method with a ruler is more dependable.

Which finger should I measure for an engagement ring?

Measure the ring finger of the hand you plan to wear it on. Your dominant hand is often slightly larger, so measure the correct hand.
